Cozumel is full of stunning beaches, each with its own unique charm. Some are ideal for family photos, others are perfect for romantic sessions, and some offer a more adventurous vibe. Here are my top picks!

1. Playa San Francisco – Perfect If You’re Visiting by Cruise 🚢☀️

If you only have a few hours in Cozumel and want to make the most of your time, Playa San Francisco is an excellent choice. Here, you can relax on the soft sand, enjoy the turquoise sea, and take advantage of all the amenities at Beach Club San Francisco.

You can also try water activities like jet skiing, parasailing, paddleboarding, kayaking, or snorkeling. If you’re looking for fun and laid-back photos in a tropical setting, this is the perfect spot. And the best part? It’s super close to the cruise pier!

2. Public Beach: Playa Mia – Fun and Convenience 🌴🏖️

If you’re looking for an accessible beach with a large sandy area, Playa Mia Public Beach is a great choice. It also has quieter areas with white sand and crystal-clear waters, perfect for capturing more relaxed moments. This beach is very versatile for any type of session and doesn’t require an entrance fee. It’s ideal for family photos full of energy and color.

Right next to it, you’ll find Playa Mia Beach Club, where for an additional cost, you can enjoy lounge chairs, restaurants, water slides, and inflatable games.

3. The East Side of the Island – Untamed Beauty and Ocean Waves 🌊🌾

If you’re looking for a more wild and natural setting, the east side of the island is a hidden gem. There are no big hotels or beach clubs here—just the open ocean, golden sand, and stunning rock formations.

Plus, if you love waking up early, you can opt for a sunrise session. This side of Cozumel is the first place in Mexico to receive the sun’s rays each morning.

Some of my favorite beaches on this side are:

✨ Mirador Chumul – I love the view from this spot! The wooden staircase, beach entrance, and rustic palapas create a perfect background for a tropical session.

✨ Punta Morena – A fantastic spot with rustic palapas and strong waves that add a more adventurous feel to the photos.

4. Beach Clubs: More Options for an Amazing Beach Day 🍹🌊

If you prefer a beach with comfortable lounge chairs, great food, and refreshing drinks, Cozumel has plenty of beach clubs to choose from. Each one has its own style and vibe:

🌿 Hemingway – A laid-back spot with a bohemian atmosphere, perfect for photos with palm trees and tropical decor.

🐠 Skyreef – Great if you want to mix your photo session with snorkeling. The water here is crystal-clear and full of marine life.

🌴 Palancar Beach Club – If you're looking for a peaceful setting with stunning ocean views, this is the place.

🍹 Paradise Beach – One of the most popular and complete beach clubs, featuring a pool, inflatable water games, and a super fun atmosphere.

For those looking for a varied and dramatic landscape, Punta Sur is the best spot. Here, you’ll find a lighthouse with panoramic views, mangroves, sand dunes, and a wild, untouched beach.

I love doing sessions here because the views from the lighthouse are breathtaking, and the wildlife is amazing—you can spot raccoons, birds, turtles, and even crocodiles.

This area also features Beach Club Anemona, a perfect spot to cool off after a long beach day. It’s a place you simply can’t miss!

6. El Cielo – A Dreamy Paradise with Starfish ⭐🐠

If there’s one place in Cozumel you absolutely must visit, it’s El Cielo. This breathtaking sandbar in the middle of the ocean is famous for its crystal-clear waters and starfish resting on the seabed. The feeling of being here is pure magic, and photos taken at this spot look like something out of a dream.

To get here, you’ll need to take a boat tour, and a great option is Beach Break Cozumel, which departs from Playa San Francisco. You can combine the trip with snorkeling at nearby reefs and enjoy an unforgettable experience.

Why Should You Schedule Your Photo Session at Sunset? 🌞✨
